INSULATED?

We have been seeing a lot of b.o. (obama) signs in the countryside around two of the towns we frequent in the lazy, hazy days of summer.

The towns are delightful.

They are friendly, clean, and prosperous, full of folks we believe to be intelligent, hardworking, and on top of things.

And so we wonder.

How can such folk put up signs for such a national dem as b.o.?

We theorize that perhaps these Northern Folk feel that they are indeed in God’s Country; that they are insulated from all or most of the harm that a b.o. can inflict on the Republic; and that it is time for a change; that change is good once in a while; and that after a dose of change they will be able to return to a leader who really knows what is going on.

It is amazing how wrong otherwise intelligent people can be.

What you're seeing Paul, is the evidence that Michigan is indeed a very big democrat state.
They might not have picked Obama first, but heck, he's a dem!

Don't forget that there are a heck of a lot of retiree's in our north country. I think that's a huge factor. Retiree's who think that Republicans are out to steal their entitlements, and/or retiree's who come from big labor down-state.
There are also a lot of tree-huggers and peace-niks.
And when you get away from the little towns and out into the hinterlands in between, there are a lot of employment-challenged individuals who fall back on entitlements constantly (even farmers). These folks also reject and fear Republicans.

You know that I love the north, and many of the folks that live there, but damn, you can't talk politics with 'em!
