THE ENEMY WE FACE

Alan Dershowitz paints a frightening picture of the enemy our nation faces in his recent article in The Wall Street Journal.

It is not the enemy the West is accustomed to dealing with.

The conventions regarding the rules of war really do not deal effectively with such an antagonist.

Here is an enemy who seeks to die as he carries out his operations against us.

With such an enemy, formerly proscribed rules of engagement become more and more necessary.

Formerly proscribed are the techniques that the national dems are so exercised about.

They are wrong.

The Bush Administration is right.

The next President had better be right, for all our sakes.

Good article and good points that shouldn't really need to be pointed out to anybody in this day and age, and yet, unbelievably, we still must!

Back in the '70's, One of my favorite rock groups, The Police, had a song called "Russians". It contained the following verse:

"Mr. Krushchev said we will bury you.
I dont subscribe to this point of view.
It would be such an ignorant thing to do,
If the Russians love their children too."

At the time, those words were comforting when you gave them serious reflection. That somehow we would always avoid war with the Soviets, because certainly, the Russians did love their children.

The enemy has indeed changed when mothers offer up their children to death, and to cause death.

A new enemy with new rules. Our rules must also change.
